The existing elementary school received updated mechanical and electrical systems. Limited reconfiguration of the facility included relocation of the administrative office suite to develop a safe school entrance and improve visibility of the main entrance. The majority of the building was upgraded with new interior finishes. Following a district wide feasibility study and evaluation of the existing Middle School building the Southmoreland School District decided to construct a new Middle School adjacent to the Southmoreland Elementary School.
